The existing single span timber bridge structure over Ritters Creek on Meryla Road will be replaced in accordance with AS 5100 requirements for all GVM vehicles. The bridge serves local traffic, with no alternative route for a number of residents beyond Ritters Creek Bridge.
The existing Bridge structure on Diamond field’s Rd needs replacing in accordance with AS 5100 requirements for all GVM vehicles. Diamond field’s Road bridge is old timber bridge which is currently decommissioned due to its deteriorated condition, due to its condition it was recommended by consultants to close the bridge.
An upgrade to the Bowral Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) is required and an initial review of Environmental Factors will be undertaken. Although the STP is operating well and the quality of the effluent discharged to the Wingecarribee River within its Environment Protection Licence, the plant is now operating at near its design capacity.
The project involves detailed design and construction of a new water main between Kangaloon Road (Eridge Park Road) and Hill Road Reservoir.
Works for this project are expected to commence in mid-March 2023 and complete by mid-December 2023.
We're working on the design for Moss Vale Bypass. Wingecarribee Shire Council has received $3.5 million from the NSW Government to conduct preliminary investigations and designs for the Moss Vale Bypass.
During the 2019-2020 bush fires, the need for more stored water was highlighted in a number of areas. A number of sites have been identified as requiring more stored water. Council will be going to tender for the design and construction for sites at Wingello, Balmoral and Penrose.
Council has engaged a contractor to construct the new Wingecarribee Animal Shelter and State Emergency Services (SES) building in Moss Vale.
Preliminary designs for the Berrima Road Deviation Project were placed on public exhibition in 2017 and construction commenced in January 2018. The aim of the project is to divert Berrima Road from the existing level crossing near the Boral Cement Works to a bridge over the train line further east.
The existing bridge structure is to be replaced in accordance with AS 5100 requirements for all GVM vehicles (the existing bridge had a weight restriction in place). The new bridge is being designed and in consideration of surrounding environmental considerations. The design of the structure incorporates erosion and batter protection of embankments, both upstream and downstream.
Moss Vale STP Upgrade to 20,000 Equivalent Population to service growth projections up to the year 2046 and to meet NSW EPA and WaterNSW requirements.
Following the adoption of the Playspace Strategy in 2020, Council is undergoing a program of playspace renewals across the Council area to improve community access to quality recreational play facilities, with a commitment to design playspaces following Everyone Can Play principles.
The Mittagong Memorial Hall as we know it today is a testament to community re-adaptation of facilities over time, as it is the amalgamation of three unique buildings into one. It has formerly served the community as a School of Arts, Mittagong Council Chambers and a community hall.
Design of an earthen embankment dam wall to create a stormwater detention basin at Retford Farm.
The Moss Vale Senior Citizens Centre Retaining Wall Replacement project includes replacement of the existing timber retaining wall and fencing with a besser block style along the property boundary to create a small outdoor courtyard.
Bong Bong Common is the site of a convict period settlement that dates from 1821 to c.1843 which consisted predominantly of government buildings where soldiers and public servants would have worked and lived. This is the first European settlement of the area.
Design and Construction of a new recreational playspace at David Wood Playing Field, Boardman Road Bowral
Rehabilitation over 9.3 km of Old South Road between Merrigang Street in Bowral and Aylmerton Road Mittagong. Works include pavement reconstruction and safety improvements including: installation of crash barriers, shoulder widening/sealing where possible. Design of the works has been finalised and construction has commenced. The works are programmed to be completed by the end of 2023.
