Moss Vale Bypass

We're working on the design for Moss Vale Bypass. Wingecarribee Shire Council has received $3.5 million from the NSW Government to conduct preliminary investigations and designs for the Moss Vale Bypass.

Rural Fire Service Tanks

During the 2019-2020 bush fires, the need for more stored water was highlighted in a number of areas. A number of sites have been identified as requiring more stored water. Council will be going to tender for the design and construction for sites at Wingello, Balmoral and Penrose.

Berrima Road Deviation

Preliminary designs for the Berrima Road Deviation Project were placed on public exhibition in 2017 and construction commenced in January 2018. The aim of the project is to divert Berrima Road from the existing level crossing near the Boral Cement Works to a bridge over the train line further east.

Moss Vale Sewage Treatment Plant Upgrade

Moss Vale STP Upgrade to 20,000 Equivalent Population to service growth projections up to the year 2046 and to meet NSW EPA and WaterNSW requirements.

Moss Vale Senior Citizens Centre Retaining Wall Replacement

The Moss Vale Senior Citizens Centre Retaining Wall Replacement project includes replacement of the existing timber retaining wall and fencing with a besser block style along the property boundary to create a small outdoor courtyard.

Welby Landfill Remediation

The project works involve the stockpile removal from the Welby landfill, as well as the design and construction of capping regrading, batter and stormwater drainage to the Landfill.

David Wood Inclusive Adventure Playground

Design and Construction of a new recreational playspace at David Wood Playing Field, Boardman Road Bowral

Ritchie Park Playspace Renewal

Following the adoption of the Playspace Strategy in 2020, Council is undergoing a program of playspace renewals across the Council area to improve community access to quality recreational play facilities, with a commitment to design playspaces following Everyone Can Play principles.

Bong Bong Common Stage 1 and 2 Works

Bong Bong Common is the site of a convict period settlement that dates from 1821 to c.1843 which consisted predominantly of government buildings where soldiers and public servants would have worked and lived. This is the first European settlement of the area.

Casburn Park Upgrade - Wingello

Find information about Casburn Park upgrade, Wingello. The upgrades include improving accessibility and parking, 2 new playgrounds, pump track, toilet amenity, deck, village green and village plaza, shared paths, picnic and BBQ facilities.

Range Road Glenquarry Road Reconstruction

Works for this project commenced in mid-March 2023 and are estimated to be completed by mid-December 2023.

Robinson Street Mittagong Culvert Renewal

Culvert upgrades at the creek in Robinson Street, Mittagong, are expected to commence in June 2024. The works will include culvert and headwall renewal, pavement reconstructions, safety fence installations, bank stabilisation, tree removals and revegetation. The project is estimated to be completed by December 2024.

Mittagong Memorial Hall (Mittagong Playhouse)

The Mittagong Memorial Hall as we know it today is a testament to community re-adaptation of facilities over time, as it is the amalgamation of three unique buildings into one. It has formerly served the community as a School of Arts, Mittagong Council Chambers and a community hall.

Bong Bong Common Pathway Improvements

Find out about the upcoming planned improvements for the Bong Bong pathway along the Wingecarribee River floodplain between Moss Vale and Burradoo.

Bowral Sewage Treatment Plant Upgrade

An upgrade to the Bowral Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) is required and an initial review of Environmental Factors will be undertaken. Although the STP is operating well and the quality of the effluent discharged to the Wingecarribee River within its Environment Protection Licence, the plant is now operating at near its design capacity.

Old South Road, Between Merrigang Street & Old Hume Highway

Rehabilitation over 11 km of Old South Road between Merrigang Street in Bowral and Old Hume Highway. Works include pavement reconstruction and safety improvements including: installation of crash barriers, shoulder widening/sealing where possible. Design of the works has been finalised and construction has commenced. The works are programmed to be completed by the end of May 2024.

Argyle Street, New Berrima - Drainage Upgrade

Find out about upgrade works in New Berrima. Works include the construction of a kerb and gutter and other improvements to the road and drainage along the western side of the Argyle Street and Taylor Avenue intersection in New Berrima.

Bowral to Moss Vale 450mm Water Main - Duplication (Master Plan)

The project involves detailed design and construction of a new water main between Kangaloon Road (Eridge Park Road) and Hill Road Reservoir.

Priestley Street, Mittagong - Culvert Upgrade

Renewal and upgrade of the existing culvert near 18 Priestley St Mittagong, due to damage incurred in the 2022 flooding events. The works also include creek bank stabilisation, vegetation establishment, and road rehabilitation.

Wingecarribee Animal Shelter & SES Building

Council has engaged a contractor to construct the new Wingecarribee Animal Shelter and State Emergency Services (SES) building in Moss Vale.

Retford Farm, Bowral - Stormwater Detention Basin

Design of an earthen embankment dam wall to create a stormwater detention basin at Retford Farm.
