Community Financial Assistance

The second round of the Community Financial Assistance Scheme opened on Monday, 1 December 2025. Applications close at midnight on Tuesday, 31 March 2026. During the Council Meeting on Wednesday, 15 October 2025, Council endorsed funding for 39 community projects - investing over $130,000 into our local community.

Each year, Council provides financial and in-kind support to eligible individuals, community groups, and not-for-profit organisations. These programs help deliver the goals of Wingecarribee 2035 and support a thriving, connected, and resilient community.

Our grants, sponsorships and subsidies are competitive and designed to deliver measurable community benefit. 

 

Who can apply?

You may be eligible if you are a: 
  • Not-for-profit organisation (including incorporated associations, sporting clubs, village groups, and arts and cultural organisations). 

  • Unincorporated community group supported by an eligible incorporated body (auspice). 

  • Registered charity (specific categories only). 

  • School or educational institution delivering projects with a broader community benefit. 

  • For-profit business (event sponsorship only, where there is clear community or economic benefit). 

  • Individual (specific categories only, e.g. selected to represent at State or National level in sport, arts, or science). 

To be eligible, applicants must: 

  • Be based in, or deliver their project within, the Wingecarribee Shire. 

  • Have no outstanding debts to Council. 

 

Funding Programs Available

A wide range of programs are open under the Framework. Each has specific eligibility and funding caps. 
  • Community Grants – $1,000 to $5,000 for community-led projects and initiatives. 

  • Sustainability Grants – $500 to $3,000 for schools and community groups advancing environmental sustainability. 

  • Kick Starter Grants – $250 to $1,000 for small-scale, grassroots community and youth initiatives. 

  • Small Halls Activation Grants – Up to $1,000 to activate and increase use of small halls. 

  • Community Event Sponsorship – $500 to $10,000 to support events that bring people together and celebrate our Shire. 

  • Destination Event Sponsorship – In-kind support for events that drive visitation and boost the local economy. 

  • Young Achievers Awards and Donations (open quarterly) – $50 to $200 to celebrate and support outstanding young people. 
  • Venue Access Program (Bowral Memorial Hall) – Subsidised access for cultural performances and community groups. 

  • Community Waste Disposal Assistance Scheme – Support to cover disposal costs for community clean-ups and events. 

  • Christmas Micro-grants - $1000 - $4000 to support community-led Christmas activations.

Wingecarribee ClubGRANTS  

Wingecarribee ClubGRANTS Category 1 provides funding for projects and services that strengthen community welfare, social inclusion, and support systems. Funding is available for initiatives in:  

  • Community welfare and social services  

  • Community development  

  • Employment assistance programs  

  • Community health services  

The Category 1 Wingecarribee ClubGRANTS will re-open in 2026. 

Grant Funding Finder  

Wingecarribee Shire Council has subscribed to Grant Funding Finder through a licensing agreement with Regional Development Australia Southern Inland.  

Grant Funding Finder is a customised portal for unlimited users and is a database of all grants available in our designated geographic area.
