One of Council’s functions is to regulate development within the Shire in accordance with the requirements of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act, 1979 and other associated policies and directions from the New South Wales Government. Council needs to ensure developments find the right balance between protecting the environment, supporting a healthy local economy and providing effective access to community services and infrastructure. 

Inspections:

For all development applications lodged after 1 July 2022, inspections are ‘pay as you go’ and have not been included in your Fee Quote.

To facilitate a streamlined inspection process, we have transitioned to an online booking system.  Payment must be completed at the time of booking, ahead of the scheduled inspection date. 

We are currently  unable to guarantee same day/next business day bookings (processed after 3pm for next business day). When booking an inspection, bookings must be submitted by 3pm.  if you have an urgent request you can contact the My Inspect Hotline on 1300 842 361 to discuss your options. Any inspection requests made after 3pm, for an inspection the next day, will attract the urgent request surcharge. Inspections are held Monday to Friday.
