Coal Seam Gas and Longwall Mining

In November 2012 Wingecarribee Shire Council declared itself a Coal Seam Gas (CSG) and Longwall Mining Free Shire, installing signage at entry points to the region.

The IESC is a Federal Government Committee formed to provide independent advice on CSG or large coal mining development proposals, research projects, and water-related impacts associated with CSG and large coal mining activities.
