Where art meets community
Located in the Wingecarribee Shire Council Civic Centre in Moss Vale, the Atrium is a community exhibition space celebrating creativity, connection and the diverse stories of the Southern Highlands.
A changing program of exhibitions throughout the year showcases work by local artists, schools, community groups and creative organisations. Exhibitions explore a broad range of themes and perspectives, often connecting with significant community events and celebrations including NAIDOC Week, Youth Week, Seniors Festival and International Day of People with Disability.
From painting and photography to sculpture, mixed media and collaborative community installations, the Atrium provides an accessible space for our community to experience and share creative work.

Expressions of Interest – 2027 Atrium Exhibition Series
Could your work be part of the Atrium in 2027?
Council is inviting artists, schools, community groups, organisations and creative collectives to submit an Expression of Interest to exhibit in the Atrium Gallery during 2027.
We're interested in exhibitions that celebrate creativity, share local stories, amplify community voices and invite people to see or experience something new.
The Atrium program also connects with significant dates and community celebrations throughout the year. If your proposed exhibition complements an existing Council program or annual celebration, there may be opportunities to work in partnership with Council to bring the exhibition to life.
You can nominate your preferred month or timing as part of your Expression of Interest. While preferences cannot be guaranteed, they will help us develop the 2027 exhibition program and identify opportunities for collaboration.
Before you apply
The Atrium is a community exhibition space within a working Council building. Successful exhibitors are expected to take an active role in delivering their exhibition, including installation and pack-down of their work using the Atrium hanging system.

Council staff will coordinate access and provide relevant information; however, exhibitors should be comfortable managing the installation and removal of their exhibition with minimal assistance.

About the Atrium space
The Atrium is located within the Wingecarribee Shire Council Civic Centre at 68 Elizabeth Street, Moss Vale.
The light-filled public space includes a dedicated hanging system suitable for a range of two-dimensional works and provides an opportunity for exhibitions to be experienced by visitors to the Civic Centre throughout the month.
