The Southern Highlands region is known for the strength and creativity of its artistic community. Practitioners of all levels, from national icons to enthusiastic amateurs, are attracted to the area by the cool air, natural beauty and lifestyle that combine to provide an inspirational creative environment.

Amongst the local population of the Southern Highlands is a growing proportion of artists, broadcasters, craftspeople, film and television actors, high-profile industry personalities, musicians, performers, poets, and writers.
