Heavy Vehicle Transport on Council Roads

Wingecarribee Shire Council is responsible for maintaining bridges on our regional and local roads.

Some other bridge works are the responsibility of the Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC).

Bridge Load Limits

You must not drive past a bridge load limit (gross mass) sign or gross load limit sign if the total of the gross mass (in tonnes) of your vehicle - and any vehicle connected to it - is more than the gross mass indicated by the sign.

Roads with Sign Posted Load Limits

Heavy vehicles must not travel on roads that have a sign posted load limit unless that road is the only to access a destination. The condition for travel on roads with load limits does not apply to bridge load limits. Bridge load limits must never be exceeded.
