Wingecarribee Shire Council is calling on residents to provide feedback on two draft complaints-related policies now on public exhibition.

Council’s General Manager Lisa Miscamble explained the purpose of the Draft Feedback and Complaints Policy and Draft Managing Unreasonable Conduct by Complainants Policy.

“These draft policies explain Council’s obligations and responsibilities when a complaint, feedback or compliment is received,” she said. “They’re designed to ensure that any complaints received are handled promptly and fairly.”

Ms Miscamble said the draft policies were consistent with the respective NSW Ombudsman’s model policies for complaint handling.

“Similarly, the Draft Managing Unreasonable Conduct by Complainants Policy seeks to better protect staff from complainants who are deemed to have acted or continue to act unreasonably,” she said.

“Together these draft policies demonstrate that Council is listening to the concerns of the community and is working to restore community confidence.”

To view a copy of either the Draft Feedback and Complaints Policy or Draft Managing Unreasonable Conduct by Complainants Policy, visit www.yoursaywingecarribee.com.au or view in person at Council’s Moss Vale Civic Centre or branch libraries.

Feedback can be made online, by email to mail@wsc.nsw.gov.au or in writing addressed to Wingecarribee Shire Council, PO Box 141 Moss Vale 2577.

Submissions and feedback for both draft policies close on Tuesday 19 July 2022.

Following the close of the exhibition period, a final report considering feedback will be presented to Council.
