We are currently experiencing multiple water main breaks in Bowral, affecting several locations. The affected areas include Evans Lane, McDonald Street, Hamilton Avenue, Merrigang Street, and Banksia Street. Water crews are working to isolate and repair the main breaks, and interruptions to the water supply are expected from 9 AM to 2 PM. Updates will be provided as they become available.
We're aware of reports about discoloured water within the Council’s water network and are prioritising the issue.
Works for this project are expected to commence in July 2024 and last for 8 weeks. The works will include:
The location of this project site is 68 Oxley Drive, Mittagong NSW 2575, opposite the Reservoir Street intersection.
During the February and March flooding events in 2022, the road embankment and pavement section were damaged due to the creek overflow. To prevent further slips, the concrete sleeper retaining wall will be constructed along a 20 metre section towards the road embankment. The improvement works also include the channel upgrade and safety fence installations. The construction of the retaining wall is a part of the disaster recovery works.
Road users and pedestrians are cautioned to be aware of heavy machinery and workers in the area, follow the changed traffic conditions and exercise care when travelling through the work zones. Access to emergency services will be maintained during construction. The Traffic Management Plan will be approved by Council. The construction works will be undertaken ensuring minimal disruption and inconvenience to road users and neighbouring properties.
