Congratulations to the talented winners of the Eucalyptus Photography Competition 2024!

OPEN Category Winner:                        Shane Cheeny
PRIMARY Age Category Winner:          Ava Despotovic
HIGH SCHOOL Age Category Winner: Romy Billington

The Wingecarribee Shire Council invited people to participate in a Eucalyptus Photography Competition, which ran from 1 March to 17 March 2024. The aim was to capture the beauty of Eucalyptus trees in the Southern Highlands.

Prize categories were:

- Open, presented with a Eucalyptus cinerea, commonly known as red flowering gum.

- High School age, presented with a $50.00 book voucher for Bowral book shop.

- Primary School age, presented with a $50.00 book voucher for Bowral book shop.

The winners were announced by Professor David Lindenmayer at his book launch event on 20 March at 4.00pm in Councils offices, which coincided with the recognition of National Eucalyptus Day on 23 March. Lindenmayer is a prominent figure in forest ecology and conservation, renowned for his extensive research and advocacy for sustainable forest management practices.

Thank you to everyone that took part in the competition and submitted such beautiful images of Eucalyptus Trees.
