Frog Day - March 20 Worldwide

Celebrate Frogs & Help Protect Them

World Frog Day (March 20 each yearis all about raising awareness for frogs and other amphibians, many of which are threatened or disappearing. The official site — World Frog Day — offers kid‑friendly information, videos, and resources from SAVE THE FROGS! to help students understand why amphibians matter and what they can do to support them.

To take learning a step further, the Australian Museum’s FrogID project empowers families, students, and citizen scientists to record frog calls and contribute real data to national frog conservation. By exploring the site — FrogID — kids can learn how frog calls help scientists identify species, track population changes, and map where frogs are thriving or in trouble.

For children who want to actively explore their own environment, the Southern Highlands Frog Spotting project on iNaturalist invites them to log frog sightings and help build a community‑powered frog census. Through Frog Spotting – Frog Census Southern Highlands, students can upload observations, compare species, and see the biodiversity in their region grow through citizen science.

Together, these pages offer an accessible and engaging way for young people to see, hear, and document the frogs around them — while learning why these remarkable animals urgently need our protection.
