World Environment Day is an international day of environmental awareness and action. In 2023 the focus is on plastic pollution.
Plastic pollution caused by our consumption and over reliance on single-use plastic. This is a huge global challenge, but one that we must all take on.
Consumer pressure is key, but real action needs to come from companies, investors, lawmakers and governments. To become part of the solution, Wingecarribee Shire Council's Resource Recovery Team have organised two waste and recycling workshops at Moss Vale this year ahead of Plastic Free July.

Transitioning to plastic alternatives is critical. This includes choosing plastic-free packaging at the supermarket and well as being mindful of the reuse, recycling and disposal of plastic waste.
