Social Inclusion Week takes place from Saturday, 22 November, to Sunday, 30 November. 

Social Inclusion Week (SIW) Australia aims to encourage communities to reconnect and be inclusive of all cultures, age groups, nationalities, and abilities. The theme is Connect, Collaborate and Celebrate! Social Inclusion Week

During SIW 2025, there are a range of FREE activities you can take part in across the Wingecarribee Shire. 

International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD) is held on 3 December each year. It’s a United Nations observed day aimed at increasing public awareness, understanding and acceptance of people with disability. This year’s theme is ‘Fostering disability inclusive societies for advancing social progress.There are lots of free, inclusive activities and events being held locally around IDPwD. Monday 24 November
  • Access Ideas and Insights: Disability Leadership

Join Accessible Arts at their event exploring Disability Leadership. This discussion will delve into the profound impact and distinctive potential of disability culture within arts practice, as well as organisational disability leadership across the arts, culture and screen sectors.

  • Pathways to Possibilities 2025: Celebrating International Day of People with a Disability

Join this inspiring and powerful free online event hosted by SSI (Settlement Services International Limited) and AFDO (Australian Federation of Disability Organisations) that brings together changemakers, advocates, and community leaders to celebrate inclusion and amplify lived experiences in the workplace.

Bundanoon Webels are bringing walking soccer to the Highlands. Come and meet the volunteers and give it a go. Great for older people, those with injury or limited mobility. For all adults over 50, and any adult with a disability or injury.

Join us for an online session where we’ll share what Council heard during consultations for our new Disability Inclusion Action Plan. We’ll present the key feedback and suggestions gathered from community feedback and check that we’ve understood correctly before we proceed with preparing the plan.

To celebrate the contributions and achievements of our community, the Creating and Thriving Art Exhibition is held annually in The Atrium at Council’s Civic Centre. The exhibition showcases works from local artists and makers with disability.  

Come along to our launch to see the artworks and meet some of the makers and artists contributing to this fantastic exhibition!
