Mittagong Playhouse Restoration Works

Refurbishment works at the Mittagong Playhouse have commenced.

The $8.66 million project is being delivered through a joint funding arrangement, with the Australian Government contributing $4.33 million through the Growing Regions Program and Wingecarribee Shire Council matching this investment with a further $4.33 million.

The works will carefully restore the heritage-listed building and address structural, safety, and accessibility issues. They will also deliver targeted upgrades to boost performance capacity and community use, creating a modern, high-quality cultural facility that preserves the Playhouse’s historic character.

Construction is expected to be completed in December 2026.
