Road Ahead: Progress on Repairs and Projects - June

June has been a busy month, with roadwork crews continuing to deliver improvement works across our road network, particularly focusing on spray sealing road segments and completing larger patch repairs. 

Pothole Repairs:

• 246 potholes were filled and repaired at Mittagong, Moss Vale, Robertson and Kangaloon.  

Road Upgrades:  

• Sealed Drainage: 2,265 metres and 13 drainage structures and pollutant traps cleared. 

• Unsealed: 18 kilometres grading and 27 kilometres of associated drainage was undertaken on Yarrunga Road, Bellmore Falls Road, Callistemon Avenue, Vaughn Street, Kells Creek Road, Crawford Road, Jellore Lane, Spring Hill Road and Sackville Street.   

• Resealing Program: 1050 metres of works completed on Fountaindale Road 

• Heavy Patching: Centennial Drive and Albert Street in Bowral, Elizabeth Way and Pearson Street in Hill Top, and Green Hills Road in Berrima.  

Upgrades Underway at Colo Vale Railway Park 

Work has begun to transform Colo Vale Railway Park into a safer, more accessible, and vibrant place for children, young people and the wider community to enjoy. 

Located within walking distance of the Colo Vale Community Centre and Heritage Train Station, the renewed park will offer a wide range of benefits. It will encourage physical activity, support community health, foster stronger social connections, and enhance the overall look and feel of the local area. 

Key features of the upgrade include: 

• A skate/learn-to-ride track 

• A variety of swings and play equipment 

• A picnic shelter and seating area for families and visitors 

The project follows community consultation and Council’s resolution on 19 February 2025 to proceed with Concept Design Option B, which was strongly supported by local feedback. Find out more: https://participatewingecarribee.wsc.nsw.gov.au/colo-vale-railway-park  

Works are expected to be completed by late August 2025, weather permitting.
