Opening Doors for Young People

Wingecarribee Shire Council is calling on local young people, along with their parents and carers, to explore a world of opportunity at the Wingecarribee Careers Expo on Tuesday 20 May 2025, from 5pm to 7pm, at Bowral Memorial Hall.

This free event is designed to help young people take the next step in their journey, whether they are still at school, recently finished school or are unsure about what comes next. Attendees will discover a range of resources and local connections needed to plan their next steps with confidence.

With a mix of local employers, industry professionals, universities and training providers under one roof, the Expo offers:

  • Real conversations with local employers about job opportunities and career pathways
  • Expert advice from education and training providers on study options
  • Hands-on insights into the skills and qualifications needed to get started in a range of jobs

“This careers expo is a fantastic opportunity for young people in the Shire and their families to gain practical insights into what’s possible locally,” said Wingecarribee Shire Mayor, Jesse Fitzpatrick. “It’s about connecting them with the right people, such as local employers, helping them plan for the future with confidence.”

The Wingecarribee Youth Expo is supported by NSW Government Youth Opportunities Program funding.
