Wingecarribee Shire Council is seeking community input to develop its new, comprehensive Development Control Plan (DCP), which will guide future development across the Shire.

To simplify and improve development guidelines, Council is consolidating its 17 existing DCPs into a single, user-friendly and comprehensive document applicable Shire-wide.

The new DCP will deliver updated and clearer guidance for a range of development types and land uses, while retaining and enhancing the distinct character controls that define our towns, villages and the spaces in between.

Wingecarribee Mayor Jesse Fitzpatrick encouraged community members to provide feedback on the new DCP.

“The new DCP will significantly influence how our Shire evolves, creating liveable places for families and everyone to grow and thrive,” said Mayor Fitzpatrick. “Our aim is for it to underpin the unique character of the Wingecarribee, while also enabling strategic and sustainable growth.”

“To help ensure that this important document truly reflects our community’s priorities and values, we need to hear from the people who live and work here,” he said.

Wingecarribee Shire residents, landowners, and business operators can share their thoughts in-person or via Participate Wingecarribee. Feedback is open until Sunday 18 May 2025.

  • Individuals with experience using the current DCPs are invited to provide detailed feedback on their usability and suggest improvements through a dedicated survey available on the platform.

  • All residents are invited to contribute by either by marking significant locations on an interactive map and sharing accompanying comments or completing the dedicated survey available on the platform.

  • Face to face feedback can also be provided by registering to attend the Draft DCP Forum to be held on Monday 12 May at 5pm. Please visit Participate Wingecarribee to register.
