Winter school holidays program packed with fun and free activities

The July school holidays are just around the corner and Wingecarribee Shire Council has put together a packed program of free activities for young people aged 8 to 24 years.  

Running from 6–17 July 2026, the program includes creative workshops, cooking classes, youth events, library activities and opportunities to connect with others across the community. 

The program kicks off on Monday 6 July with the NAIDOC Family Fun Day at Ngununggula, a free celebration of culture and community with activities for all ages. 

Another highlight is the Wingello Youth Take Over at Wingello Hall, offering a relaxed space for young people aged 12 to 24 to hang out, enjoy a free lunch and meet new friends.  

There is something for every young person to enjoy these school holidays!  

Week 1: 6–10 July 

• NAIDOC Family Fun Day – 6 July
• Neurodiverse Families Bikes Morning – 9 July
• Open Studio with River Road (12–17 years) – 10 July
• Cooking Workshop with The Community Cooking School (12–17 years) – 10 July 

Week 2: 13–17 July 

• Wingello Youth Take Over (12–24 years) – 13 July
• Waste to Art Workshop (all ages) – 13 July
• DIY Fashion Workshop (12–17 years) – 14 July
• Cozy Corner (12–17 years) – 15 July
• Cooking Workshop (15–24 years) – 17 July
• Open Studio with River Road (18–24 years) – 17 July 

Library Activities 

Air Dry Clay Workshops for ages 8–12 at Bowral (7 July), Mittagong (9 July) and Moss Vale Libraries (14 July). 

Community Events 

Additional community activities hosted by Highlands Community Centre include: 

• Ice Skating Party at Liverpool Catholic Club – Ages 12–18 (transport provided) - 7 July
• Toy Story Movie at Empire Cinema - 14 July 
• Brew Your Future: Barista Training at Moss Vale TAFE – 17 July – Ages 15–18
