Spring into school holiday fun with Bloom & Play

Step into a garden of creativity, fun and imagination these school holidays at Bloom & Play, a free family event presented by Wingecarribee Shire Council as part of Tulip Time.
Held at Bowral Library Precinct (16-24 Bendooley Street, Bowral) on Monday 28 September from 10am to 2pm, Bloom & Play will bring together a colourful bunch of hands-on activities, performances and interactive experiences designed to spark curiosity and keep children entertained throughout the day.
The FREE family-friendly program features a Library Scavenger Hunt, Tulip Fairy Storytimes, face painting, craft activities and live performances from The Highlands School of Performing Arts and DanceED Performing Arts.
As the tulips burst into colour, curious kids can discover the fascinating world of pollinators and minibeasts through an interactive Kids Bee Discovery Workshop and Minibeasts Workshop (bookings required).
Roll up for a silks workshop and enjoy a Mermaid Party performance from Zero Central Circus, before bopping and boogying into the afternoon at the Petal Power Disco.
Bloom & Play is part of this year's Tulip Time Flower Festival, themed Together We Bloom, which celebrates community, connection and the simple joy of spring.
The fun doesn't stop there! Council's Waste and Sustainability team will host FREE Beeswax wraps and candles workshops on Thursday 8 October and Saturday 10 October, where participants can create reusable food wraps and natural candles to take home. All materials are provided and bookings are required.
A ticketed Phone Charm Making Workshop with Strawberry Design Co will also be held on Friday 2 October, from 11am to 12pm, at Corbett Gardens. Participants will design and create their own unique phone charm to take home as a personalised Tulip Time keepsake.
Corbett Gardens remains open daily until Monday 5 October from 9.30am to 4.30pm, with extended hours until 5.30pm over the October long weekend. Wingecarribee Shire residents can enjoy free entry throughout the festival by showing proof of residency at the dedicated locals' entry on Merrigang Street.
There are also plenty of community events and activities happening across the Shire during the school holidays.
