The 2019 Wingecarribee Seniors Festival will run from
Wednesday February 13 to Sunday February 24.
The theme for the 12 day festival is Love your life!
Event details will be included in the Council Program of Events which will be available in early January at the Civic Centre and libraries or from aged care service providers, village locations, seniors clubs and organisations.
The program will also be available to view or print online.
Festival events will include a Leisure and Travel Expo, bus trips, movies, concerts, library activities and more!
Community and commercial organisations are being encouraged to celebrate the contribution seniors make by holding an event or participating in an activity during the festival period.
In consultation with older people and the wider community Council developed the Wingecarribee Positive Ageing Strategy 2016-2026. The Positive Ageing Strategy 2016-2026 and Action Plan were adopted by Council on 9 December 2015.
Community feedback was received following the public exhibition period and the final strategy was revised.
The Positive Ageing Strategy 2016 - 2026 will be progressively implemented over ten (10) years commencing 1 January 2016.
The Strategy will set out Council’s approach to supporting older people to live happy, healthy, independent lives and remain connected to the community as they age.
