Positive Ageing

In consultation with older people and the wider community Council developed the Wingecarribee Positive Ageing Strategy 2016-2026. The Positive Ageing Strategy 2016-2026 and Action Plan were adopted by Council on 9 December 2015.

Community feedback was received following the public exhibition period and the final strategy was revised.

The Positive Ageing Strategy 2016 - 2026 will be progressively implemented over ten (10) years commencing 1 January 2016.

The Strategy will set out Council’s approach to supporting older people to live happy, healthy, independent lives and remain connected to the community as they age.

Seniors Directory

The 2017-2019 Wingecarribee Seniors Directory is now available!

Entitled ‘Positive Ageing’, the directory contains a comprehensive list of activities and contacts for seniors living in the Southern Highlands.

The directory also provides information on a range of services including emergency and government agencies, Council facilities, health and transport providers, volunteer contacts and support and leisure groups.

More than 8,000 copies of ‘Positive Ageing’ will be distributed across the Shire at multiple locations including Council’s Moss Vale Civic Centre and libraries, local pharmacies, doctors surgeries, aged care providers, clubs and community organisations.
