September was a busy month, with roadwork crews continuing to deliver improvement works across our road network.

Customer Request Management (CRM):

  • 488 customer requests were processed, resulting in 322 repairs scheduled -  reflecting a strong focus on responsive service delivery.

Pothole Repairs:

  • 440 potholes were filled and repaired across Mittagong, Robertson, Exeter, Wildes Meadow, Fitzroy Falls, Bundanoon, Werai and Wombeyan Caves Road.

Road Upgrades:

  • Sealed Drainage: 2,100 metres cleared across Mittagong, Bowral, Welby, Colo Vale, Burrawang, Glenquarry, and Hilltop. This included the servicing of 14 drainage structures and pollutant traps for improved water flow and environmental protection.

  • Unsealed: 4 kilometres grading and 8.75 kilometres of associated drainage works were completed across Nathan Street, Sprouls Lane, Ferndale Road, Bells Road, and Woodlands Road. These works improve road surface conditions and enhance stormwater management in the area.

  • Asphalt Renewal Program: Seasonal Programme yet to commence. No works undertaken in September.

  • Resealing Program: High Street Robertson and spray sealed the 150m2 intersection of Exeter and Ellsmore Road.

  • Heavy Patching: Patches at Kells Creek Road, Woodlands, Sutton Street, Berrima, and off Centennial Road.

Bullio Creek Causeway Upgrade

Location: Wombeyan Caves Road, near Bullio Creek

Project Type: Design and construction for the renewal of the existing causeway

Purpose: To improve road safety, reliability, and resilience - especially during adverse weather conditions.

Council recently completed the upgrade of Bullio Creek causeway crossing on Wombeyan Caves Road, Bullio. The works included the installation of a box culvert and headwalls, road pavement reconstruction, creek bed and bank stabilisation, and installation of a safety fence, signs and line marking.

Being an environmentally sensitive area, which includes fish habitat and significant protected trees, careful design measures were incorporated to protect these features, as well as provide for significant creek flows in high rainfall events to pass under the roadway.

These works have significantly improved road safety, increased flood immunity, stabilised and protected creek banks, and renewed vegetation of the site.
