Anzac Day
Anzac Day is the solemn day of remembrance of those Australian and New Zealand service men and women who fought and died for their country. Anzac Day is marked annually on the anniversary of the Gallipoli campaign of the First World War to honour all Australians who have served their country in wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations.

The 2023 commemorations at Moss Vale began with a crowd who came together at the Queen Street car park from 10:30 am, followed by a march from 10:40 am to the Moss Vale Services Club Services Club at Argyle and Yarrawa Streets Moss Vale, and a service at 11 am.
Anzac Day 2023 dawn services and events in Wingecarribee
On Tuesday 25 April 2023, join the families of local veterans at Anzac Day dawn services, marches , and other Anzac Day events across our Shire in remembrance of Australians who have fought for the freedoms we enjoy.
Many local Returned and Services League sub-branches planned commemorative services and wreath laying events in townships or villages for 2023. Wingecarribee Shire Council representatives attended many of these services to honour former and current servicemen and women.
- 5:30 am Berrima: War Memorial at Market Place, Berrima.
- 10:30 am Berrima: War Memorial at Market Place, Berrima.
- 5:25 am Bowral: Assemble at 5:25 am for a march from 5:30 am from 311 Bong Bong Street, with a ceremony to follow at the memorial on the corner of Bong Bong Street and Merrigang Street from 6 am to 6:30 am.
- 10:20 am Bowral. Assemble at Oxley Mall Car Park at 10:20 am for a march from 10:35 am along Bong Bong Street to the memorial at the corner of Bong Bong Street and Merrigang Street for a 10:45 am Anzac Day ceremony.
- 6 am Bundanoon: Dawn service will take place outside Soldiers’ Memorial Hall on Church Street.
- 10:30 am Bundanoon: Anzac Day march begins on Railway Parade near the corner of Osbourne Street to arrive outside the Soldiers’ Memorial Hall for a ceremony from 10:45 am.
- 10 am Burrawang: School of Arts Flag Raising Ceremony at the Cenotaph (with the main ceremony of commemoration at Robertson commencing at 11 am.
- 8 am Colo Vale War Memorial Railway Parade Colo Vale.
- 9 am Exeter War Memorial, Exeter Park.
- 6 am Hill Top War Memorial Hall 102 Wilson Drive Hill Top.
- 5:15 am Mittagong: Assemble from 5:15 am on Church Lane for a march from 5:20 am along Main Street to the Mittagong and District War Memorial Clock Tower off Old Hume Highway and The Highlands Way (Bowral Road). Dawn service begins at 5:30 am.
- 10:20 am Mittagong: Assemble at Albion Street from 10:20 am for a march from 10:30 am. Service commences at Mittagong and District War Memorial Clock Tower off Old Hume Highway and The Highlands Way (Bowral Road) from 10:45 am.
- 10:30 am Moss Vale: Assemble in Queen Street car park from 10:30 am for march from 10:40 am to the Moss Vale Services Club Services Club at Argyle and Yarrawa Streets Moss Vale, where a ceremony will begin from 11 am.
- 11 am Robertson School of Arts 55 Hoddle Street Robertson.
- 7:45 am Sutton Forest March begins from 7:45 am march form outside All Saints Church with an 8 am service to follow. March will end at National Service and Reserve Force Memorial at the corner of Illawarra Highway and Golden Vale Road.
