Household Chemical Clean Out

Overview

The Household Chemical Clean Out event is held once a year. This years event will be held on Saturday 30 April 2022.

On the Household Chemical Clean Out day residents can drop off their unwanted household chemicals, FREE of charge at Council's Moss Vale Works Depot.

What Can Be Disposed Of

Chemicals include residential quantities (20 kg or 20 litre maximum container sizes) of;

  • Solvents and household cleaners
  • Floor care products
  • Ammonia-based cleaners
  • Pesticides and herbicides
  • Poisons
  • Pool chemicals
  • Hobby chemicals
  • Motor fuels
  • Fluorescent globes and tubes
  • Acids and alkalis
  • Smoke detectors
  • Paint and paint-related products
  • Gas bottles
  • Fire extinguishers
  • Car and household batteries
  • Motor oils and cooking oils

Funding

The event is hosted by Council through the support of the Environment Levy and the NSW Environment Protection Agency (EPA).  

This is a NSW EPA Waste Less, Recycle More initiative, funded from the Waste Levy.

Further Information

Most items can be disposed of all year round at our local Community Recycling Centre, excluding chemicals. See the CRC for more information.
