Council is committed to providing clear, consistent, and effective communication and engagement with our community. We are currently implementing our new Communications and Engagement Strategy 2025 - 2029 while updating existing statutory plans to ensure best practice.
Council adopted the new Communications and Engagement Strategy 2025 - 2029 at the Wednesday, 19 November Ordinary Meeting of Council. This new, overarching strategy provides the framework for how Wingecarribee Council will communicate and engage with residents, businesses, and stakeholders across the Shire over the coming years.
Our previous Community Engagement Strategy incorporates the Community Participation Plan (CPP)(PDF, 6MB), which is a statutory planning document that outlines how the community will be involved in land use planning decisions (e.g., Development Applications, planning proposals).A model community participation plan will be prepared by the Planning Secretary, which, when available, will prescribe how NSW Councils are required to undertake community participation as per the new Environmental Planning and Assessment Amendment (Planning System Reforms) Bill 2025, which was assented to by NSW Parliament on 24 November.
