Community engagement and consultation is a regular and important part of Council's everyday services, involving the interaction of staff and Councillors with the local community.
The list below shows some of the ways you can have a say or find out what is happening in our shire:

Sport and Recreation Consultation
We’re taking our first steps towards developing a new strategy that supports sports and active recreation.
You’re invited to help us with this process during summer via:
- A survey that focuses on your sport and recreation needs, and
- Interactive map where you can place pins to identify facilities in the Shire you love or would like to see improved.

Following consultation in early 2014, Wingecarribee Shire Council adopted its first strategy and policy for community engagement on 26 November 2014. Both documents were reviewed and updated in 2019.

This section contains information on how to lodge a petition with Council.
For a petition to be considered by Council, it should:
- Be legibly written or typed
- Have a detailed description of the request of the Council
- Clearly show the full name, address and signature of every signatory
- Be written in a manner that is courteous, and
- Not be disrespectful to the Council or individuals.
While all petitions will be listed for Council information, failure to follow these guidelines may negatively affect the perceived legitimacy of your petition.
Petitions lodged with Council will be listed on the agenda of the next available Ordinary Meeting of Council. The listing will include a brief description of the purpose of the petition and the number of signatories to it. To maintain privacy the names, addresses or signatures of the persons who have signed the petition will not be included in the Council meeting agenda.
A copy of the petition will also be placed in the Councillors’ Room (for their information) and circulated to relevant Council officers.
