Wingecarribee Shire Council engaged URS Australia to undertake a flood study of the Whites Creek catchment.
The creek starts from upstream of Moss Vale Golf Course, runs through the centre of Moss Vale Township and travels along the side of the Moss Vale Sewerage Treatment Plant. The study includes all surrounding land that drains in to Whites Creek.
The flood study assessed various potential floods in the study area. The flood study was the first step towards a comprehensive Floodplain Risk Management Study & Plan in accordance with the NSW Floodplain Management Manual. The flood study was completed in 2008 and adopted by Council. The Whites Creek Floodplain Risk Management Study & Plan is near completion.
