The Household Chemical CleanOut event is held once a year and allows residents to drop off their unwanted household chemicals free of charge, including cleaners, garden chemicals, paints, and batteries.
The next Household Chemical CleanOut event will be held on Sunday 21 May 2023 from 9 am until 3:30 pm at Council's Moss Vale Works Depot. Entry is via the Parkes Road and exit via Berrima Road.
Chemicals that can be disposed at the Household Chemical CleanOut include residential quantities (20 kg or 20 litre maximum container sizes) of;
- Solvents and household cleaners
- Pesticides and herbicides
- Fluorescent globes and tubes
- Paint and paint-related products
- Car and household batteries

This annual event is hosted by Council through the support of the Environment Levy and the NSW Environment Protection Agency (EPA).
This is a NSW EPA Waste Less, Recycle More initiative, funded from the Waste Levy.
Many household items (other than chemicals) can be disposed of year round at our local Community Recycling Centre (CRC). See the CRC website for more information.
