General Guidelines
Any product suspected of being asbestos will be treated as asbestos unless the customer can provide proof that it is not asbestos. This includes fibreboard or fibrous cement.
Proof can be in the form of a Hygienists Report, labelling on the product, or supplier’s documentation for that product.
The Protection of the Environment Operations (Waste) Regulation 2014 requires the transport of asbestos in NSW to be recorded from the place of generation to its final destination. Introduced in October 2015, WasteLocate is the EPA’s new online system to monitor the transport of asbestos within NSW. WasteLocate generates a unique EPA consignment ID to allow the tracking of the load, and can be accessed by internet-connected tablets or smartphones.
Anyone, including individuals and small businesses, who is involved with the transport of more than 100kg or 10m2 of asbestos need to use the WasteLocate system.
When you deliver the load to the RRC, you must log into WasteLocate and scan the QR2id plate (located beside the window on the out-bound weighbridge) to confirm delivery. Already the EPA has already imposed a fine against a company not using WasteLocate.
For more information visit the EPA website:

Asbestos can only be deposited at the RRC under the following conditions:
1. Double-bagged in approved asbestos bags
Quantities of less than 20kg can be brought in as a parcel, however each parcel must be double-bagged in approved asbestos bags. Approved bags can be bought at the RRC.
2. Hazibags
Quantities of more than 20kg must be presented in an approved bulk asbestos bag, such as a Hazibag. Hazibags are available for purchase at the RRC.
If asbestos is found to have been unloaded, as a contaminant of another waste type:
