Building Resilience to Extreme Weather in Seniors: A Community Resilience Innovation Project

Council is seeking nominations from seniors to take part in a research project aimed at building resilience to extreme weather events.

Extreme weather events include flood, storm, heatwave, bush fires and snow.

We want to hear about your experiences and concerns so that we can tailor a workshop specific to the needs of our community.

The research project is open to residents over 65 years of age who live independently.

Interviews and short surveys were held in November 2018.

Volunteers were also invited to participate in a two-hour workshop in February 2019.

To register your interest, contact Council’s Local Emergency Management Officer Amanda Lawrence on phone 02 4868 0888.
