Resilient Seniors

Building Resilience to Extreme Weather in Seniors:
A Community Resilience Innovation Project

Council is seeking nominations from seniors to take part in a research project aimed at building resilience to extreme weather events.

Extreme weather events include flood, storm, heatwave, bush fires and snow.

We want to hear about your experiences and concerns so that we can tailor a workshop specific to the needs of our community.

The research project is open to residents over 65 years of age who live independently in their own home.

Interviews and short surveys will take place at a time convenient to you from November 2018.

Volunteers are also invited to participate in a two-hour workshop planned for February 2019.

To register your interest, contact Council’s Local Emergency Management Officer Amanda Lawrence on phone 4868 0888.
