Mittagong Oval Tennis Court

Council is currently reviewing the usage and future of the Mittagong Oval Tennis Court with a view to encouraging participation and outdoor activities via a multi-purpose court.

As this is an open court, it is difficult for Council to gather information on how often the tennis court is used. If you are a regular player on this court we would like to hear from you. Tennis court facilities are available at Lake Alexandra and Colo Vale, however Council acknowledges they are locked courts and incur a hire fee.

Council would like to consider this court for additional recreational pursuits. There is a project proposed in the 2019/20 program to convert the court to a multi-purpose slab to allow various activities such as:

  • Basketball
  • Handball,
  • An area to learn to skate or ride a bike for young children or beginners
  • A hit wall
  • Cricket practice nets
  • Tennis –the tennis court could remain as an option subject to community feedback

The multi-purpose court would remain fenced to ensure the safety of the users and prevent balls from entering the carpark.

Council is keen to hear your feedback on this proposal, your current usage and any suggestions you may have by Monday 3 December 2018.

Please provide comments via email to mail@wsc.nsw.gov.au or via a letter to Council marked to the attention of the Asset Planner.
