Joint Regional Planning Panels (JRPPs) provide independent, merit-based decision making on regionally significant development. Applications for regionally significant development are notified and assessed by a local council and then determined by the relevant regional panel.
Regional Panels may also have a role in reviewing Planning Proposals, where the Minister for Planning and Infrastructure has appointed the regional panel to act as the relevant planning authority (RPA) or asked the Regional Panel to undertake a Pre or Post Gateway review.
The Southern Joint Regional Planning Panel attends to requests affecting Wingecarribee Shire Council. View upcoming matters and those already determined (external link).
Each regional panel is comprised of five members. The current members of the Southern JRPP appointed by the Minister may be viewed here.
The Department of Planning & Infrastructure's appointed members are currently Mrs Laurel Cheetham with Mr Jim Allman as alternate. Council's members are Clr Ian Scandrett with Clr Graham McLaughlin as alternate.
The JRPPs' website (external link) provides more detail on all aspects of its operation.
