Community Workshops
Our Waste Education Officer offers a range of services including presentations and workshops at local events and the Resource Recovery Centre.
Future waste education workshops
Please browse our Events Directory for our upcoming waste education events.
Our waste education presentations and workshops range from the following topics:
- General overviews of waste management services in the Southern Highlands
- How to reduce and recycle plastic
- The ins and outs of recycling in Australia
- A guide to the three bin kerbside system
- What happens to our waste - a circular economy approach
- What’s new in waste management
Our waste education sessions are fun, flexible, interactive and can be tailored to suit the needs of your group. They can combine any of the above topics or can be tailored to your group's specific questions about waste.
Sessions are normally one to two hours, but can be tailored to meet your needs.
Keep an eye out for regular events and workshops which are ran from the Resource Recovery Centre, including:
- Clean Up Australia Day (held annually on the first Sunday in March)
- International Compost Awareness Week (held annually in the first full week of May)
- National Recycling Week (13-19 November)
