Climate Change and Sustainability

Wingecarribbee Shire Council is committed to taking urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts.  We are working on reducing the impacts of Council’s operations on the environment and providing sustainable living support to the community through our community programs and services.

 

Climate Change in our Shire

On February 13th 2020 Wingecarribee Shire Council declared a Climate Emergency and joined many jurisdictions around the world in committing to action against the impacts of climate change.

Sustainable Us – a Community Initiative

Sustainable Us is a Council run community-based initiative that was created in 2022 in response to the ever-growing concern of global warming and lack of clear environmentally sustainable living information.
