What is Hotspots ?
Hotspots is a community engagement program that provides private landholders and land managers with the skills and knowledge to actively participate in fire management for the protection of life and property, while at the same time ensuring biodiversity is protected and maintained.

How do I get involved ?
The NSW Rural Fire Service and NSW Nature Conservation Council are partnering with Wingecarribee Shire Council to deliver fire management training for landholders living or managing properties in bush fire prone areas.
The next Hotspots workshop for residents living in the Wingello / Penrose and Paddy's River area.
Workshop 1 - Planning workshop Thursday 4th October 2018.
Workshop 2 - Hazard Reduction Burn Thursday 11th April 2019.

If you cannot attend these workshops but are interested in other fire workshops or other bushfire preparedness training, contact Council's Bushfire Officer at WSC on (02) 4868 0819.
The NSW Rural Fire Service and NSW Nature Conservation Council partnered with Wingecarribee Shire Council to deliver 2 free fire management workshops in the Canyonleigh area on the 12th April and 3rd May 2018.
These workshops were a great success and provided training for landholders living or managing properties in high bushfire risk areas.
