Arts on Prescription Information Session

This information session will be of interest to GPs, Pharmacists, Allied Health Practitioners, Aged Care Assessment Team members, Home Care Package Providers, Adult Day Care Centre staff and Practicing Artists of all types.

An information session for artists and health practitioners about a program to promote healthy and active ageing through the arts
Tuesday 17 July 2018 10am – 12 noon
Theatrette, Civic Centre, Donkin Ave, Moss Vale

presented by Wingecarribee Shire Council in partnership with HammondCare. 


Research shows that engaging with the arts improves the physical, mental and social wellbeing of older people. HammondCare have been trialling a participatory arts program called Arts on Prescription. Older people are referred to the program by a healthcare practitioner and guided by a professional artist through an arts based small group activity. https://www.hammond.com.au/services/arts-on-prescription-sector-guide Council is investigating trialling the program in the Southern Highlands.
