Tulip Time Festival Welcomes Spring Across the Southern Highlands
Published on 27 August 2024
Bright, blooming and full of fun, the annual Tulip Time Festival is set to cast its springtime magic across the shire with breathtaking floral displays and exhibits.
This year’s main floral spectacular features 80,000 hand-planted tulips and 16,000 other spring flowers in Corbett Gardens in Bowral, which are available to view daily from 12 September to 30 September (9.30am to 4.30pm). Plantings of tulips and other spring flowers will also be blooming in various other locations throughout the Shire.
The festival kicks off with an exclusive preview day for residents of Wingecarribee Shire on Thursday 12 September. Residents can also attend Tulip Time between 9:30 am until 4:30 pm for free with no bookings required. Entry is via the Merrigang Street gate, alongside the Coaches/Groups entry. Proof of residency must be shown on entry to take advantage of this locals-only opportunity.
Over two weekends, Friday 20 and Saturday 21 September, and Friday 27 and Saturday 28 September, visitors and locals alike can experience the magic of Tulip Time After Dark. The garden will come alive for four magical evenings with dazzling lights, live music and delicious local food and drinks. Gather your friends, bring your picnic blanket, sit back and enjoy. Bookings and tickets are required for all attendees of this unique after dark festival experience.
A new addition to the festival program is a delightful three-day garden party held over the October long-weekend, from Friday 4 October to Sunday 6 October. Enjoy local wine, beer and spirits, paired with delicious food and artisan market stalls. With a DJ providing lively tunes, it promises to be a fun and social atmosphere amidst the beautiful blooms.
Pampered pooches can also enjoy the festivities at the Dogs Day Out on Friday 30 September. Dogs of all shapes and sizes are welcome and owners are encouraged to dress them up to join in the fun.
