The Bowral South New Living Area (NLA) Draft Master Plan, Servicing Strategy and Due Diligence Reports are now on public exhibition, and community members are invited to share their thoughts. The consultation period runs from Monday, July 29, 2024, until Monday, September 23, 2024.

"It's important we work together to meet our community's housing needs, and we want to hear from as many people as possible to ensure these plans align with community expectations," said Wingecarribee Shire Council’s Acting General Manager, Hamish McNulty.

He added, “Developed in partnership with the community, the Draft Master Plan sets out the vision for what Bowral South NLA could become. The Draft Servicing Strategy identifies the necessary infrastructure upgrades as the area develops and a funding mechanism to coordinate the delivery of all infrastructure.”

During the public exhibition period Council will continue to collaborate with the community to achieve best practice outcomes for built form, amenity and infrastructure, as well as the celebration of First Nations heritage.

Bowral South NLA is one of six New Living Areas identified in our adopted Wingecarribee Local Housing Strategy, which provides the long-term planning framework to meet the housing needs of our community.

Located at the intersection of Eridge Park Road and Kangaloon Road, with the Wingecarribee River to the south and Bong Bong Picnic Racecourse to the east, Bowral South NLA promises a vibrant and diverse mix of housing types. The draft Master Plan identifies the opportunity to create a small village centre that will foster community connections and ease congestion in the existing Bowral Town Centre, as well as bringing the Wingecarribee riverfront and riparian corridors into public ownership as open space and conservation areas.
