Unfortunately all Bushcare working bees are suspended indefinitely due to the current COVID-19 pandemic and operational challenges. We will notify all registered Bushcare volunteers when this suspension is lifted. Thank you for your patience during this difficult time.
In light of the COVID 19 restrictions across NSW and the lockdown in Greater Sydney (including Blue Mountains, Central Coast, Wollongong and Shellharbour LGAs) we are taking a prudent safety first approach cancelling all Bushcare working bees scheduled between Monday 28th June 2021 and Friday 9th July 2021 inclusive. The situation will be reviewed on 9th July and in line with Government directives. We will advise of any further restrictions to Bushcare working bees.
The group meets to encourage natural regeneration of native grasses, herbs, rushes and reeds through the removal of woody and herbaceous weeds within and along the riparian land on either side of Mittagong Creek between Mount Road and Willow Road Bowral.
Bushcare and Rivercare working bees occur on a fortnightly or monthly basis and you must be registered as a volunteer with Council if you would like to participate. If you are interested in volunteering please complete the online application form and Council will be in touch with you.
