Berrima Bushcare Group - every 1st Monday

The group meets to remove weeds and restore bushland adjoining the Wingecarribee River in various locations within Bushland Reserves in the village of Berrima. 

Stonequarry Walk was restored from a weedy impassable track to a wonderful short walk with views of the river.

River Bend Reserve is enjoyed by locals and visitors, has a popular heritage walking trail and is where revegetation projects and habitat hollows have been installed through the Wall to Wollondilly project. The Bushcare volunteers have weeded the area and collected seed to propagate native plants at the Community Nursery.

The group's citizen scientists undertake bi-annual platypus surveys to contribute to the Southern Highlands Platypus Conservation Project. The surveys occur in Spring (October) and Autumn (April) each year. 

Bushcare and Rivercare working bees occur on a fortnightly or monthly basis and you must be registered as a volunteer with Council if you would like to participate. Sites will vary, and a Bushcare Team member will notify the group a few days before the working bee about the meeting point.
