Community Group Presentations and Workshops

Overview

Our Waste Education Officer offers a range of services from, including presentations and workshops at local events and the Resource Recovery Centre.  

Waste education presentations and workshops range from the following topics:

  • General overview of waste management and services available across the Southern highlands
  • Plastics: how to reduce and recycle them
  • Recycling: all the ins and outs
  • The three bin kerbside system: how it works
  • What happens to waste: a circular economy approach 
  • What’s new in waste 

Sessions are interactive, fun and flexible, and can be tailored to suit the needs of your group, combine any one of the above topics or surround your specific questions about waste.

Sessions are normally one to two hours, but can be tailored to meet your needs.

Keep an eye out for regular events and workshops ran from the Resource Recovery Centre, including:

  • Clean Up Australia Day – Waste Reduction Workshops
  • International Compost Awareness Week 
  • Plastic Free July
  • National Recycling Week 

Bike Repair Workshops

  • Free bike repair workshops every Wednesday from 10amree
  • Maximum Number of Participants 8-10 
  • Covered shoes and long sleeve shirts are required
  • Please bring along a drink and snack on the day
