About the Role
Wingecarribee Shire Council recently received the 2023 LGNSW Planning Award. As the newExecutive Manager Strategic Outcomes, reporting directly to the General Manager, you will be leading a specialist group of dedicated and experienced planning professionals. Your challenge asExecutive Manager Strategic Outcomeswill be to ensure a sustainable Shire that delivers on the visions within the Community Strategic Plan and the outcomes of the Local Strategic Planning Statements all the while enhancing Wingecarribee’ s liveability and local character now and into the future.

As such a key challenge will be infrastructure delivery to unlock housing and employment lands.
About You
Focused upon delivering quality outcomes for the community, we are seeking a highly motivated planning professional with well-developed leadership abilities.
A creative thinker, you will be comfortable generating alternatives, visualising new possibilities, challenging assumptions and opening yourself up to new information. Further your ability to plan for the future through well considered strategic planning, providing balanced growth and delivering increased diverse housing stock will be key elements of your professional make up.
Well-developed stakeholder management and advocacy skills are a must, as is the ability to interact with all levels of government.

About the Role
As Manager Development Assessment and Regulation, reporting directly to the Director Communities and Place, you will be leading a significant group of dedicated and experienced professionals including:
- Fast Track Assessment - advice and accelerated planning assessment
- Development Assessment - planning and design assessment
- Development Engineering - road, water and sewer assessment)
- Compliance and Regulation
- Public Spaces and Animal Regulation
Your challenge as Manager Development Assessment and Regulation will be to lead and manage the Development Assessment and Regulation Branch of Council and to deliver effective services that ensure good development, infrastructure, community activity and use of public land.
Exciting developments include:
- The large-scale Southern Highlands Innovation Precinct
- Renewal of iconic Bowral, Moss Vale and Mittagong Town Centres
- Ashbourne Estate release area, bringing housing diversity to Moss Vale
- Renwick release area, growing a new community near Mittagong
- Future work in 7 identified new release living areas
