Wingecarribee Public Libraries

Bowral-Central-Library

Wingecarribee Public Libraries work to support the information and recreation needs of our local community.

There are branches in three central locations at Bowral, Mittagong and Moss Vale, and a mobile library that travels nearly 10,000 km a year across the Shire, so whether you’re in Balmoral, Canyonleigh, Robertson or Wingello, or somewhere in between, there’s always access to your library.

Our libraries offer a range of activities for kids and teens, including weekly Baby Rhymetime, Storytime and Lego and Duplo building activities, as well as events like school holiday activities, writing, and HSC study workshops.

For others, the library holds popular monthly author events organised and run by our Friends of Wingecarribee Libraries volunteer group. We also offer more than 100 book club kits for book clubs to borrow and discuss and over 70,000 items in our print collection for members to borrow.

While our physical collection remains popular as ever, library members also have free access to eAudiobooks, eBooks, eMagazines, movies to stream, and other online resources like family history databases on Ancestry.com. All you need is a library card and PIN.

If you’d like help using technology, or know someone who might, free monthly Tech Time sessions are available to book with our local NBN Ambassador.

Local libraries also have free Wi-Fi on public access computers and photocopying and printing facilities.

Our Local Studies Collection is continually growing, and we can assist you with a range of enquires. If you’ve ever wondered about the history of your home, are interested in local records and archives or would like to learn about the story of our local area, we can help.

There’s more to the story at Wingecarribee Public Libraries. Visit the library website, pop into a branch or call the library on 1300 266 235 to join and see what else we offer.
