Pedestrian Access Mobility Plans

Together with the Roads and Traffic Authority (RTA), all councils in NSW have a responsibility to provide safe, convenient and connected pedestrian routes which will encourage people to walk rather than use their cars.

In 1998 the RTA began a new program to assist councils in their planning for pedestrians. This program is known as PAMP – Pedestrian Access and Mobility Plan. A PAMP is a comprehensive strategic and action plan to develop pedestrian policies and build pedestrian facilities.
