Wingecarribee Shire Council has a responsibility to provide safe, convenient and connected pedestrian routes that will encourage people to walk rather than use their cars. Council also has a responsibility to ensure that people who do not have access to cars are able to reach needed facilities in their everyday activities, and that as far as possible, people with a physical disability do not have their access impaired because of that disability.
