New Procedure at the Resource Recovery Centre as from Today 1 July 2008For safety and quality purposes, tighter controls for load entry and inspections now apply. As part of the Resource Recovery Centre’s (RRC) quality assurance program for its products and aligned safety issues, tighter controls are to be introduced from 1 July 2008 for the acceptance, handling, processing and storage of materials received and products available for sale at the RRC.
Products (including mulches, composts, soils, crushed masonry and wood chip) are to be accredited under applicable Australian Standards and relevant guidelines. An important part of this process is to ensure loads that are accepted at the RRC are not contaminated with materials that will affect our end products, such as hazardous materials or waste that we are not licensed to accept. Customers must now wait for an Attendant to be present BEFORE any tipping commences. We apologise for any delays you may experience and thank you for your co-operation with this important change in procedures. Improved resourcing, tipping areas, separation methods and training will be implemented along with the changes to ensure maximum efficiency and minimal disruption. Customers will be asked to sign a Disclaimer certifying that their loads do not contain any prohibited articles such as asbestos or suspected asbestos products, gas bottles, chemicals or any potentially hazardous materials.
