Bessemer Street traffic signals to be turned on at the end of JulyIt is anticipated that the new traffic signals at the intersection of Bessemer Street and Old Hume Highway, Mittagong will be turned on at the end of July. Work has been proceeding with Council staff and contractors replacing existing kerb and gutter, constructing drainages and rehabilitating the road as a part of proposed traffic signal construction work at the intersection of Bessemer Street and Old Hume Highway, Mittagong. The Work involves:
Changed Traffic Conditions: The road is open to all traffic and is controlled by traffic controllers and signage. Road users are cautioned to follow the changed traffic conditions, to exercise care when traveling through the work zone and to be aware of heavy machinery and trucks on site. The work zone will be speed restricted to 40kph (24 hours) during construction period. Council requests that the public exercise patience during this time and will make every effort to minimize disruptions. It is inevitable, however, that some delays or inconvenience may occur.
