Planned Water Outage17th April 2018Please be advised we have a planned water outage on Kent St in Yerrinbool today between 9am- 4pm for installation of a new council asset. Residents that will be directly affected have been notified. Once water is restored residents may notice low water pressure and/or water discoloration until the flushing process has been completed.
Oakland St

Water Main Break16th April 
2018
Council crews are attending to a water main break in Oakland St Mittagong. This break will also affect Livingstone Ct, Wills Pl & Cherry Tree Pl. Other surrounding streets may also be affected by low pressure and/or water discoloration. Water restoration for the three cul-de-sac's should take roughly 45mins however the duration to repair the main break in Oakland St is unknown at this stage.
Ascot Rd 
Bowral
Water Main Renewal6th April 
2018
Council has engaged with contractors to install a new water main along Ascot Rd to improve the reliability of supply and quality of water in the area. This project will effect water supply between 9am & 2:30pm Friday the 6th of April. When the water is turned back on it is advisable to open taps slowly to release any air that may have entered the pipe line. If delayed by wet weather or any other site conditions the interruption will occur on the next working day. 
Berrima, New Berrima and Moss ValeSewer main cleaning and cctv inspection program

Commencing early Feb 2018 due for completion by end of June 2018

Council has engaged Environmental Services Group (ESG) to undertake sewer pipe cleaning & CCTV inspections as part of its annual sewer maintenance program targeting inflow and infiltration into the sewer network. 


ESG will be starting works in early February. Notification letters will be delivered to affected residents prior to works starting in their area.


The project involves the following activities: 

• Accessing the sewer system via access chambers
• Cleaning of the sewer pipes
• CCTV Survey of the sewer pipes
• Traffic Control for the above activities where required.

The contract is due to be completed by end of June 2017.

Merrigang Street, Bowral

Sewer Main Construction

Commencing 17th Jan 2018

The works will involve laying a new trench along the roadway and the construction of a new 225mm sewer main by specialist contractor Carve Earthworks. Construction will be carried out over a distance of 350 metres between the intersections of Queen Street and Jasmine Street.


Hours of construction will be 7.00am to 6.00pm Mondays to Saturdays.


During these construction hours a lane of the immediate work area will be temporarily closed to through traffic. Detour will be in place through Jasmine Street for east bound traffic and Queen Street for west bound traffic.


The project is scheduled to be completed by mid-February 2018. All timeframes are subject to weather conditions.

Bowral Sewerage Treatment Plant, Burradoo Rd, Burradoo

Possible Odour

Wed 18th and Thurs 19th April 2018

Council is required to conduct a maintenance program at monthly intervals to ensure best operational practices and regulatory compliance. Although Council implements managerial protocols during this process, unfortunately the practice may still result in residents noticing odour release. These scheduled works are impacted by wet weather and operational demands.

Water & Sewer Network Renewals & UpgradesCommencing June 2017 for 12 Months

Council has engaged Carve Earthworks & Construction Pty Ltd have been engaged to conduct a 12 month replacement program involving upgrading and replacing water mains, water meters, sewer mains and manholes in various locations in the Wingecarribee Shire.


These works are being carried out to ensure our water and sewerage systems operate at peak performance and continue to provide our customers with safe, reliable and continuous water and wastewater services.


Should the contractor require entry into a property, letters will be issued to the homeowner prior. Pipe renewals will be conducted utilising trenchless technology where possible. Areas where works are carried out will be restored after construction.

Moss Vale, Lackey RoadWater Main ConstructionCommencing Monday 8th Jan 2018

The works will involve the renewing of the old water main and the construction of a new 150mm water main by specialist contractor Carve Earthworks. Construction will be carried out over a distance of 400 metres between the intersections of Parkes Road with Lackey Road and Argyle Street.


Hours of construction will be 7.00am to 6.00pm Mondays to Saturdays.

During these construction hours the immediate work area will be temporarily closed to through traffic. Access will however be made available to immediate properties Lackey Road.


Road users and pedestrians are cautioned to follow the changed traffic conditions including detours, exercise care when travelling through the construction zones and be aware of loose stones and heavy machinery within the work areas.

Signage will also be erected and traffic controllers will be stationed on site to manage traffic during work hours. Where possible, motorists are advised to avoid the area.


Council thanks motorists in advance for their cooperation and apologises for any temporary delays or inconvenience.

Council is extending the existing carpark to provide additional parking at the East Bowral Community Centre. During construction sections of the carpark and footpath in the immediate vicinity of works may be temporarily closed to allow the movement of construction vehicles. The carpark will however remain open and efforts will be made to minimise the impact.

Commenced in November 2017, expected completion before 2018 Soccer Season

Council is repairing and refurbishing the existing amenities, canteen and store room at Stephens Park. For the period of construction these facilities will be closed to the public. Alternative, temporary toilets facilities are available. The fields and playgrounds remain open to the public and sporting groups.

Rural Fire Service Building

Works expected to be complete in early 2018

Council is constructing a new building to house the NSW RFS. This new purpose built building will replace the existing structure at a more suitable central location. Minor local traffic disruptions are expected.

Mt Broughton Road, WeraiVegetation Maintenance of Road ReserveWorks are scheduled to start late-April and conclude early May, weather permitting.Council intends on removing the vegetation to a width of 2m from the edge of the road seal, and to a height of 4.5m and removing selected dead wattles for approximately 1.6kms.

Vegetation works will be undertaken between house numbers #144 and #26.

Traffic control will be implemented for the duration of the works and some minor delays may be experienced during these times.

Retford Park Estate West subdivision is currently under construction. Part of the approved works includes the construction of a new roundabout on Boardman Road to provide access to the new Estate.
