Type: Community Event
Date: 23 May 2008
Location:

Empire Theatre Bowral.

Time: 18:30 to 22:30
Cost: $20 (incl refreshments)

3rd Woonjeegaribay Aboriginal Film Festival presents the Premiere of Whale Riders followed by a program of short films showcasing the talent of emerging Aboriginal filmmakers.

The program begins with refreshments in the foyer of Bowral's own cinema gem, the Empire Theatre.  The WCF Ted Kennedy Aboriginal fund awards will be followed by a program of shorts, and a feature film.  The Festival aims to showcase the talent of emerging Aboriginal filmmakers and to foster an understanding of the Aboriginal viewpoint - and towards this end, all film content is by Aboriginal filmmakers and actors.

The feature film Whale Riders is winner of 8 international awards and is a Julian Lennon production.  It follows the powerful journey of an Aboriginal tribe reconnecting with their spiritual world.
