This service is only available to residents who have a Council domestic waste collection.

The following conditions apply.  In the interest of safety and hygiene, these conditions will be strictly enforced.

  • Only one collection per residence per fortnight.
  • Material must not exceed 2 cubic metres (approximately 2 level standard trailer loads).
  • Materials must be organic, less than 200mm in diameter, no longer than 1800mm in length and capable of being lifted by two people.
  • Small pieces should bundled together and tied with twine.  It is preferred that sisal type (organic, not plastic) twine is used for bundles (available at hardware stores).
  • Wire must not be used to bundle material.
  • Leaves and grass clippings must be contained in reusable bags that will be returned to the frontage for next time.
  • Bags are to be left open.  Tied/closed bags will not be collected.
  • Material to be placed as close to the kerb as possible but must not obstruct traffic or pedestrians.
  • No wet, putrid or food wastes will be collected.
A limited number of reusable bags are available from the weighbridge at the RRC and the Customer Service desk at the Civic Centre for $1 each.  These will be returned to residents during collection for reuse. Residents are encouraged to co-operate with neighbours and pool materials to make collections more cost effective – a limit of 2 cubic metres per collection will still apply. Further details are available by telephoning the Resource Recovery Centre between 8.30 am and 4.30 pm, Monday to Friday, on 4868 0500.
